Lite Summer Reading

I often get asked about reading resources for financial advice. Here are 3 entries that do well for the financial novice. They do not represent the sum whole of economic education, but are a good stepping stone for the embarking beginner. Read enjoy and execute!

"Make Money, Not Excuses: Wake Up, Take Charge, and Overcome Your Financial Fears Forever" by Jean Chatzky.Chatzky discusses the four secrets to wealth—making a decent living, spending less than you make, investing, and protecting yourself against financial disasters.

"Green with Envy: A Whole New Way to Look at Financial (Un)Happiness" by Shira Boss. The premise here is that envy leads us to try to keep up with the Joneses, even when we can't afford it. The author concludes by recommending ways to control our spending.

"The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness" by Dave Ramsey. This radio talk-show host and bestselling author's advice is simple: Work hard, pay what you owe and stay out of debt. He then goes on to tell you how to do just that.
